Do you know what the Distress Signal S-O-S stands for?
We all like to be praised, receive affirmation and a little 'thank you' for the things we do. There is nothing wrong with receiving a compliment, but to prevent the flesh to be elevated and the soul to get puffed-up, we need to understand that all the honour and glory belongs to God. After-all, it is only by His grace, blessings and abundance that we are able to do, achieve and give. He is El-Shaddai, our source of everything.
Denying oneself, means to willingly submit under the ownership and mastership of someone else. When we become born again, we become free-born slaves in the Kingdom (rulership and reign) of God. Submitting under the authority and rulership of God, means that I deny mysef and do not love my own soul more than God.
To be truly free is to repent of your sins, pick up your cross, submit unto God and follow Christ.
Sin in our lives causes us to hide things and to do things in secret. It causes us to neglect the Word, to neglect the gathering of the saint and ultimately to neglect fellowship with God.
Jesus is not coming as 'loving Jesus meek and mild', but as the Righteous Judge. His commandments are everlasting life The Word (written and in flesh - Jesus) will reveal our sinful nature and bring us to Salvation in Christ.
When we send out a call of distress, an S-O-S, to God, He is faithful and just and will Save Our Souls.
